Get Ready for Windows 7
Would you like your school to be on the cutting edge of technology, inexpensively?
After lackluster public opinion of Windows Vista, Microsoft went back to the drawing board and expedited development of their next operating system, Windows 7. It has not yet been released to the general public, but I’ve seen a demonstration of it. It resolves a lot of the issues about which people were complaining, and offers a new look and some cool new features to make you more productive. Microsoft is still conducting field testing, so volunteers can install and test a “Release Candidate” version for free, for a year.
If you’re still recruiting for top-notch students or faculty for next year, wouldn’t it help to show how technologically-minded your school is by highlighting on your Website and in your newsletters that you’re participating in the “Windows 7 Release Candidate Customer Preview Program?”
If you could set aside just one or two machines, perhaps in your computer lab or library, we could install Windows 7 for you so that your students and faculty could try it out, and so that we could determine if there would be any compatibility issues with any of your academic software or with your network.
If you want more information, start here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx. If you’re ready to give Windows 7 a test drive, contact us to come install it for you.

The free beta-testing period is just about over, so now would be a good time to decide if you liked Windows 7 or not. If you’re ready to upgrade any of your machines, we’ll be happy to get you quotes for licensing and/or deployment services. If you’d rather go back to XP or Vista, we can help with that, too!
